AUTHENTICATION AND GRADING AUTOGRAPHED BASEBALLS

Sports collectors will pay higher prices for autographed baseballs that have been authenticated by a recognized service. There two major authentication companies are PSA/DNA and JSA. Both companies use a two-step authentication process when grading a ball and use a scale of one to ten. The grade takes into account both the condition of the baseball and the autograph. Having a autographed baseball graded is not cheap, but can greatly increase the overall value of the ball. Collectors should carefully consider what baseballs to authenticate as some baseballs will not be worth the extra investment.
